About

Xiomara holds a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She obtained her degree from San Diego State University. Xiomara has been providing culturally responsive counseling since 2008 to individuals, families and couples. Her professional experiences range from working in the public sector in integrative care in primary care settings, university settings, nonprofits and in private practice.

She has extensive experience working with young adults and providing college mental health. She is part of the UC-Allyship network as a trusted provider and has worked with local Universities.

Xiomara utilizes post-modern theories and is trained in EMDR (Eye movement desensitization reprocessing) a trauma treatment. She provides psycho-oncology and has extensive training in grief and loss. Xiomara is bi-cultural and provides counseling in both English and Spanish.

Xiomara loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, running, traveling, podcasting and spending quality time with her family and friends.
